We're so glad you found us!  We'd love to share with you a little bit about this magical place we call home. 

 

Formerly a bed & breakfast, the Orchard Farmhouse dates from the 1790s and is set in nearly 10 acres of lawn, apple orchards, and forest. The vibe here is relaxed... we think it's the perfect place to slow down and unwind.  Perhaps unplug with a gentle hike at nearby Castle in the Clouds, or take a refreshing swim in one of the region's many lakes. Lake Winnipesaukee, the crown jewel of the region, is just a mile down the lane. The legendary restaurant, The Woodshed, is a five-minute stroll away, and you can take an invigorating dip in  the super secret and scenic dipping hole in the brook at the back border the of the property.

We offer four guest bedrooms -- each with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom -- all in the original brick wing of the house, with its own entry. Guests can also make use of a dedicated large living room with a butler's pantry for preparing breakfast. There is high-speed internet but lighting is natural, sheets are 100% cotton percale, and duvets are down. Our house is comfortable and cosy, but the real feature is the raw beauty of the Lakes Region, a stunning natural playground that offers four seasons of fun and adventure. (Well maybe not quite FOUR seasons -- spring is all about mud and black flies. But literally any other time of year is glorious!)

​If pristine perfection is what you're after then the Orchard Farmhouse may not be for you. But if you find the vintage character of a bygone era charming then you're sure to feel right at home here.

The guestrooms are available for rental individually or collectively through Air BnB pretty much year round. We do operate a two-night minimum at weekends and holidays (though we do sometimes make exceptions, in particular for last-minute stays, so do ask!).
